Over The Border XX – The Unused Edition

As part of the Across the Pond Wrestling 2014 Awards I was asked to write a little piece about a few of the nominees. The article didn’t get written due to unforeseen circumstances so here at OSWtv I’m sharing what I had wrote.

Just Uz (Tag Team)
BT Gunn and Stevie Xavier have held the Premier British Wrestling Tag Team Championships since November 2013, facing big teams like The Coffey Brothers, 2 Unlimited and The Addiction (Christopher Daniels and Kazarian) to name a few. At British Championship Wrestling they have held the tag team championships since August 2013 and turning back teams like Hubba Bubba Lucha, Mikey Whiplash and Jack Jester and The Models. Taking on teams with big reputations and having great matches on a consistant basis. A great mix of wrestling, striking and high flying makes this team a well rounded tandem and a popular duo.
Ian Ambrose (Most Improved)
The #Scumbag Ian Ambrose started 2014 nipping at the heels of the then-Scottish Wrestling Entertainment Champion Damian O’Connor, scoring a shock victory at the January Uprising event and taking home the gold thanks in part to his partner in crime Sammii Jayne. From that point he defended the title against any and all comers, often resulting to underhand tactics to escape with the title. In August he successfully retained in the main event of SWE Hell for Lycra XI against Martyn Stallyon in a match refereed by Dennis Stamp. In October Ambrose faced off against Lewis Girvan, Damien Daniels and Chris Sabin at the debut Discovery Wrestling show. Ian Ambrose has upped his game in every department in the last 12 months with his in ring work, conditioning and especially his mic work with wonderfully captivating promos.
Stevie Boy Xavier (Most Underrated)
Give Stevie Xavier a wrestling ring and watch magic unfold. From a contender in the ICW Zero G Division or a Tag Team star with either The Bucky Boys or Just Uz. Stevie will be the one flying in the air, taking high risks. During 2014 he was simultaneously the PBW, BCW (with BT Gunn) and ICW Tag Team Champion (with Davey Boy). Traveling up and down the country making appearances for Southside and Tidal Championship Wrestling down South, Stevie Xavier is a name that is on everyones lips after any event he’s part of.
Joe Hendry (One To Watch)
mmmmmJoe Hendry…Global Hero. Joe Hendry made his full debut at the tail end of 2013 and has since made two appearances on RAW (first as a pink suit clad Rosebud then a Russian bodyguard complete with accent), he’s held the SWA Laird of the Ring, Reckless Intent Hardcore and UK Titles and the current reigning Pride Wrestling N7 Champion. He also went to Pro Wrestling Ulster, walking away with the All-Ulster Championship. He’s made appearances in England for Tidal, Romania for RWA and Ireland in the aforementioned PWU, along with taking on and defeating the likes of Doug Williams at SWE Hell for Lycra XI and Crime Time (teaming with Marty Scurll) at Discovery Wrestling No Fear No Mercy. A jack of all trades whether it is a power game or a mat grappler, Joe Hendry has fitted in a lot in his first full year in professional wrestling. Joe Hendry is still scratching the surface of his potential and 2015 will be another breakthrough year, he will certainly have a lot of eyes on him after an outstanding 2014.
