PREVIEW: Rock N Wrestle WinterSlam 11/12/15

Rock N Wrestle returns to The Ironworks for another huge night of action packed wrestling in the Highland capital. This time it sees former TNA World and Tag Team Champion and current NXT star James Storm debut. A night to remember is certainly on the horizon if past guests to Inverness are anything to go by. It’s a venue that has already seen visits Davey Richards, Ricochet, Jay Lethal, Sonjay Dutt, Joe E Legend, Angelina Love, Rob Terry and Mr Anderson travel from across the Atlantic. Along with the best of British like Marty Scurll, Kris Travis, Damian O’Connor, Drew Galloway and certainly more to come.

The marquee match is James Storm facing the wily veteran Kid Fite, who hasn’t had the best run of luck in Rock N Wrestle with only one win to his name. At their last show in Forres, Fite did make it to the final of the King of the North tournament losing to BT Gunn in a narrow final. Maybe now that he has one victory under his belt it will kickstart his Rock N Wrestle journey. It’s either that or James Storm will be saying “Sorry…about your damn luck.”

Current TNA star Grado is back in the Highlands as he takes on Liam Thomson, who will have Carmel in his corner. A huge fan favourite wherever he goes, we should expect the usual shenanigans and sports entertainment that Grado brings. Thomson and Carmel will be trying their best to twart the Chubby Wee Chancer from building any momentum.

Aspen Faith and Crusher Craib look to put an end to their heated rivalry once and for all. Faith has taken any and all shortcuts to take down the Creator of Carnage but this time the fans get to vote for the stipulation. The options are:

A/ Dog Collar Match
B/ Street Fight
C/ Last Man Standing

Go onto the Rock N Wrestle Facebook page and you can vote for which stipulation that you’d like to see added to this showdown (I picked A…mainly because I’ve never seen one live). All three options will push these two to the limits of stamina, resolve and toughness. Sammii Jayne may the be difference maker in this one as Crusher would have no protection making this as good as a handicap match, we all know that Sammii isn’t afraid to get involved in the action and to get her hands dirty.

Lucy Cole may be in for a rough night as she faces one of The Owens Twins, problem is…she doesn’t know which one. The Owens have a mean streak and Cole will have to watch her back and her front.

Only four matches have been announced so far but I’d expect to see the Rock N Wrestle Highland Champion, Jack Jester, being around in some capacity. After his brutal destruction of Lou King Sharp in Forres, it looks like Jester is in no mood to play games. Davey Blaze and Charles Boddington will be watching closely, Blaze will be gripping his Money in the Bank briefcase awaiting a moment to pounce on the Champion, whoever it may be. Boddington will no doubt be calculating a strategy, he’s not called the Manager of Champions for nothing.

If past shows are anything to go by, we can expect the unexpected. Featuring young talent from the PBW Academy and established names, Rock N Wrestle is great for fans in the Highlands who can see some of the best and brightest that the country has to offer right on their doorstep.

This show is SOLD OUT. If you have a ticket, I’ll see you there.
