Dingwall Leisure Centre, Dingwall
Rock N Wrestle continue their takeover of The Highlands by making their debut in Dingwall at the Leisure Centre with three big guests announced including two returns and a debut. After the success of shows in Inverness and Forres, plus a trek up to Strathpeffer during the Highland Slam Tour, Rock N Wrestle will surely be hoping to add another regular town to their schedule and to give the folks in Dingwall a night of wrestling action that they won’t be forgetting in a hurry.
The matches that have been announced are sure to get butts in seats with a huge Champion vs Champion match when the Rock N Wrestle Highland Champion, Jack Jester faces Global Force Wrestling NEX*GEN Champion, Sonjay Dutt. Dutt returns to Rock N Wrestle, last time he competed in the Highlands was at Rock N Wrestle 2, March 2014 against Marty Scurll. Jester has been in a less than playful mood at Rock N Wrestle, destroying Lou King Sharp at his last appearance at King of the North in Forres. Somewhere in Jester’s mind he will be focusing on the number one contender, Drew Galloway, and Money in the Bank holder, Davey Blaze. The champion has a target on his back and it could be wrong place, wrong time for the former TNA star if Jack Jester feels the need to assert his dominance over Rock N Wrestle. Not to discount Sonjay Dutt at all here, Dutt has wrestled all over the world and is considering one of the top tier X-Division stars. It’s a fasinating match up with the quickness of Dutt battling the sadistic Jester.
Another returning guest is Joe E Legend, who has made a couple appearances for Rock N Wrestle before including a big eight man tag win at The Ironworks, has a big heavyweight to contend with in the form of TJ Rage. Both are familiar foes from back on the first night of the Highland Slam Tour in Strathpeffer, the winner on that night was Legend so let’s not think for a second that TJ Rage won’t be after a bit of revenge certainly after his loss to Drew Galloway at The Ironworks in December which meant that he missed out on becoming number one contender to the Highland Championship. This will be a test of strength between the two with both not looking to give an inch.
A big six man tag match has been announced, Lou King Sharp and Donnie T are still at each others necks with both trading wins over tag team competition. Donnie’s “team” is unchanged since WinterSlam and their victory over Sharp’s team of Tam The Ram and BT Gunn. There is one change to Sharp’s trio with Aaron Echo replacing BT Gunn to form a very exciting trio of three highly rated youngsters from the PBW Academy. Echo and Tam are in need of a win with three outings at Rock N Wrestle but yet to score a point in the win column.
Colt Cabana makes his way north to make his Rock N Wrestle debut, he faces the current Money in the Bank holder Davey Blaze, who will have the Manager of Champions, Charles Boddington, in his corner. Blaze will be hoping to recoup after being superkicked by James Storm in December on the road to defeat. Colt Cabana brings a lot of fun to any show and with his recent “Worst Promo Ever” it’s clear that he’s up to entertain the fans in Dingwall…even if he’s unsure whether or not The Rock is appearing or if there’s a “Great Dingwall of China”.
Dingwall has been bracing itself lately due to the winds and storm (insert name here) but on Saturday, Rock N Wrestle plan to blow the roof off each and every house in town. I’m looking forward to getting along to the show and with a stacked line up already announced and always plenty of surprises, Rock N Wrestle are going to kick off 2016 with a bang.
