WrestleZone Battle of the Nations 2016 Preview

WrestleZone return to Aberdeen’s Northern Hotel this Saturday, August 13th, for their annual Battle of the Nations show. A huge card has been set for this event, including both the Undisputed and Tag Team titles being defended and the return of Zach Dynamite.

Fatal Four Way Match for the Undisputed WrestleZone Title
Scotty Swift (c) vs Damien vs Aspen Faith vs Joe Coffey

We all thought that with Damien earning a shot at Scotty’s gold back at Aberdeen Anarchy, he’d be getting it in a fair one on one contest. But WrestleZone management have surprised us by adding Aspen Faith and the returning Joe Coffey to the mix, making it a Fatal Four Way for the Battle of the Nations main event. Damien will be sure to have something to say about that, while Scotty knows he only has a 25% chance of retaining the title once again. Aspen is a man that proves himself over and over again and is finally getting another crack at the big one. Then we have Joe Coffey. Everyone knows Coffey is a person not to be messed with, no matter who you are. A huge main event has been set for the Northern Hotel.

WrestleZone Tag Team Titles
Kaden Garrick & Mr P(c) vs Sterling Oil (William Sterling & Alan Sterling)

After their huge Ladder match victory back at Aberdeen Anarchy, William and Alan Sterling will yet again challenge Kaden Garrick and Mr P for the WrestleZone Tag Team titles. These two teams have faced off before, with the first ending in disqualification and the second in a no contest. After Mr P caused Alan to lose to Cysto at Proving Grounds, the Sterling Brothers will be looking to rebound with a huge win for their fourth tag team title.

Sammii Jayne vs Lucy Cole

Sammii Jayne will return to singles action at Battle of the Nations as she takes on a woman making her WrestleZone debut in Lucy Cole. Lucy has really been improving since her debut and now has the chance to compete in front of a new audience. It’s not often we get to see women’s action in the Granite City, but the matches the Scottish ladies can put on are absolutely unreal. Let’s see what Lucy can bring against the Queen of Catch.

Battle of the Nations Match
Johnny Lions (Scotland) vs Sir Andrew Wilde (England)

This year’s annual Battle of the Nations match will see two men that have fallen in past BotN matches. Johnny Lions will represent Scotland as he goes to war with England’s Sir Andrew Wilde. Wilde fell short to former WWE star Drew Galloway back in 2014 while Lions was defeated by former TNA star Doug Williams at last year’s event. Despite being good friends away from the squared circle, that will all be thrown out the window come Saturday when it’s a battle for country pride.

Unsanctioned Match
Shawn Johnson vs Bryan Tucker

In a rematch from Aberdeen Anarchy earlier this year, former tag partners collide as Shawn Johnson and Bryan Tucker go to battle again, this time in an Unsanctioned match. It was Bryan that got the win at Anarchy, but Johnson made sure to get the last laugh with a brutal post-match attack. We seen what Tucker would do at Anarchy just to get revenge on his former partner. With the match not being sanctioned by WrestleZone management, anything can happen in the battle of the Hotshots.

Zach Dynamite vs Lord Mr Malice

After a near two year hiatus, Zach Dynamite will make his return this Saturday as he takes on Lord Mr Malice, who is celebrating one year of being a Lord. Malice and his trusted butler Jeeves Winchester will be looking to ruin Zach’s return on Saturday. With Zach’s career-threatening injuries causing him to take time off, Malice will be looking to use that to his advantage.

The Rejected (Chris Archer & Mikkey Vago) vs Blue Thunder & Jimbo Bannon

The final match announced for this Saturday’s show sees former Tag Team Champions The Rejected of Chris Archer & Mikkey Vago facing off with Blue Thunder & Jimbo Bannon. The Double Denim Duo are looking to get back on track towards winning tag gold for the second time, with Thunder and Bannon standing in their way. With Jimbo being the least experienced in this match after graduating from the WrestleZone Training Academy earlier this year, he’ll be looking to make his mark in the same venue he made his debut.

Fans in attendance will also have the chance to purchase Aberdeen Anarchy 2016 on DVD for the first time, priced at just £10!

Tickets are priced at £12 for adults and £10 for under 14s and can be bought from http://www.ringsideworld.co.uk, however fans can also pay at the door on the night of the show. Doors open at 6:30pm with priority entry for ticket holders, and the action is set to get underway at 7pm. I hope to see you all there!
