WrestleZone Live in Huntly 2016 Preview

WrestleZone return to the Stewart’s Hall in Huntly with all the fallout from Halloween Hijinx. With a new champion reigning over the locker room, this gives a chance for everyone to prove their mark. Let’s take a look at the announced matches for the show.

Undisputed WrestleZone Title
Andy Wild(c) vs Johnny Lions

Andy Wild’s first challenge since winning the Undisputed Title will be against Johnny Lions in a Battle of the Nation rematch. Johnny came out of that match with back problems following a devastating overhead belly to belly suplex on the Northern Hotel’s wooden floor, something he may look to do to Andy in this match. Despite being friends outside the ring, both of these men will look to go to all lengths to walk out of Huntly as the Undisputed Champion.

WrestleZone Tri-Counties Title Tournament: Qualifiers
Bryan Tucker vs Kaden Garrick

There will be another Qualifying match in the Tri-Counties Title Tournament this Saturday, as Bryan Tucker takes on Kaden Garrick. Both men are known for their tag team success, while Bryan also knows what it takes to hold singles gold having been a former Undisputed WrestleZone Champion. Kaden has been on a rather bad losing streak since losing the tag straps at Battle of the Nations. Both men will be looking to advance to the Quarterfinals, but they won’t have an easy task; whoever wins this match will meet Andy Wild in the final 8.

Mr P, Jason Reed & Cysto 1 vs Sterling Oil (Alan Sterling, Shawn Johnson & Damien)

This Saturday’s show in Huntly will play host to a huge six man tag match, as Mr P, Jason Reed and Cysto 1 team up to take on Sterling Oil members Alan Sterling, Shawn Johnson and Damien. Sterling Oil had a reasonably good night at Halloween Hijinx, with Damien finally scoring a win over former tag partner Johnny Lions and Shawn Johnson advancing to the Quarterfinals of the Tri-Counties Title Tournament (Alan was unfortunately eliminated). This Saturday, they team up to take on the team of Mr P, Cysto 1 and Jason Reed. Mr P will be looking to gain redemption over Shawn Johnson, the man who eliminated him from the Tri-Counties Title Tournament two weeks ago. Later on in said tournament, Jason Reed and Damien will face off so this Saturday acts as a taster for them to face off. Finally, Alan Sterling will look to avenge his Proving Grounds loss to Cysto in this 6 man contest. Lots of grudges to be settled in this match.

Scotty Swift vs Mikkey Vago

Scotty Swift’s first bout since losing the Undisputed Title will take place this Saturday as he faces Mikkey Vago. Scotty is 2-0 over Mikkey in past contests at previous shows in Laurencekirk and Kincorth. Scotty will likely have a rematch for the title in the near future, but a win for Mikkey over the longest-reigning champion in WrestleZone history would boost him straight up the rankings. Whoever wins this match is sure to be the rightful #1 contender towards Andy Wild’s title.

Aspen Faith vs Jimbo Bannon

WrestleZone’s resident submission specialists will collide for the first time in Huntly as Aspen Faith meets Jimbo Bannon. Aspen has been impressive since his return last month, even advancing to the Quarterfinals of the Tri-Counties Title Tournament. Jimbo has been equally impressive since his official main roster debut at Proving Grounds, earning wins over the likes of Chris Archer and Lord Mr Malice. It will be an interesting clash this Saturday between these two men.

Blue Thunder vs Chris Archer

Blue Thunder won’t be in the best of moods after being the first man eliminated from the Tri-Counties Title Tournament, a tournament that doesn’t even involve Chris Archer. Both men are former WrestleZone Tag Team Champions, but haven’t had much success since they lost the titles. Blue Thunder will need to be on the lookout incase Archer brings his tag partner Mikkey Vago to ringside with him. With neither man featured on the Halloween Hijinx card, they will both be out to make a name for themselves in Huntly.

Entry to the show is pay at the door entry, priced at £12 for adults and £10 for under 14s. Doors open at 7pm, with the action getting underway at 7:30.
