The road to the Regal Rumble is now in full swing, as WrestleZone return to the Montrose Town Hall on Saturday February 11th. Six huge bouts have been signed for the show, with everyone out to make their mark as the Rumble looms.

Undisputed WrestleZone Title
Andy Wild (c) vs Scotty Swift

The main event for this Saturday in Montrose will see a rematch from Halloween Hijinx 2016 as Andy Wild defend his Undisputed Title against the longest-reigning champion in WrestleZone history, Scotty Swift. Andy’s reign thus far has seen him use some questionable tactics against opponents such as Johnny Lions and Grado. After saving Grado from a further beating at the end of Summerhill Showdown, Scotty was told by the Ayrshire funnyman to go get the belt back for the fans. WrestleZone management have obviously agreed with Grado and have granted Scotty another rematch, this time one on one. If their previous match in October was anything to go by, this one could get chaotic.

WrestleZone Tri-Counties Title Tournament: Quarterfinals
Aspen Faith vs Johnny Lions

The second quarterfinal match in the Tri-Counties Title Tournament takes place in Montrose as Aspen Faith faces Johnny Lions in a first-time ever contest. Aspen knocked off Blue Thunder in the first of 8 qualifiers back in Kincorth, while Johnny picked up the win over Lord Mr Malice in Arbroath. Whoever wins will face the winner of Andy Wild vs Bryan Tucker in the semifinals. This match was originally scheduled to take place in Newtonhill last year, but Johnny was unable to make the show due to car troubles. The Tri-Counties Title would be a perfect fit for either of them, but only one man can advance to the final 4.

Chris Archer vs William Sterling

Following The Rejected’s shock win over The Sterling Brothers for the tag straps last month at the Summerhill Hotel, both of the new tag champs will be in singles action against the brothers. The more experienced member of The Rejected, Chris Archer will be in action when he faces the recently returned William Sterling. It was Archer that pinned William’s shoulders to the mat just under 3 weeks ago to take the gold home for The Rejected, so this gives William the all-important chance at redemption. The Rejected have been impressive since coming together a little over 2 years ago, having rivalries against the likes of The Thunder Buddies and Kaden Garrick & Mr P. With a new fued against Sterling Oil just recently started, it’s time for The Rejected to show us all what they’re truly capable of.

Mikkey Vago vs Alan Sterling

The other half of the tag champs will also be in action as Mikkey Vago goes one on one with Alan Sterling. Vago has continually impressed me since graduating from the WrestleZone Training Academy, wrestling against WrestleZone greats such as Scotty Swift, Crusher Craib and Bryan Tucker. Meanwhile, Alan Sterling has boosted up the rankings since kicking the lord fiasco to the curb. If Alan connects with his signature DDT, it’s going to be lights out for The Heavy Metal Hooligan.

Triple Threat Match
Mr P vs Jimbo Bannon vs Shawn Johnson

This Saturday will also see a huge triple threat bout, as Mr P, Jimbo Bannon and Shawn Johnson will do battle. All three of these competitors have been eliminated from the ongoing Tri-Counties Title Tournament, missing out on the chance to make WrestleZone history. Mr P will have plenty of aggression built up inside after his bout with former tag partner Kadeb Garrick went to a double count out last month, and I would imagine he’ll be picturing Garrick across the ring from him as opposed to Jimbo and Shawn. After being defeated in the quarterfinals of the Tri-Counties Title Tournament, Shawn will be out to avenge that loss. Jimbo Bannon has been on the main WrestleZone roster for just under a year now, and has excelled in submission-based tactics. I’d be surprised if he doesn’t become the next Aspen Faith. This is set to be a fantastic triple threat bout for the fans in Montrose to witness.

Bryan Tucker, Zach Dynamite & Bradley Evans vs Damien, Kaden Garrick & Marcus North

The final bout for this Saturday’s show will see a huge 6 man tag team match, with two debuts from the WrestleZone Training Academy. The team of Bryan Tucker, Zach Dynamite and Bradley Evans will team up to square off against Damien, Kaden Garrick and Marcus North. Both Bradley and Marcus are both making their main roster debuts here after initially being given the opportunity to show what they’ve learned in the #1 contenders battle royal back in Kincorth. Their going to be in the ring with some of WrestleZone’s finest this Saturday. Bradley will have Zach Dynamite and former Undisputed Champion Bryan Tucker on his side, proving to be quite the trio. Both Bryan and Zach are still competing in the Tri-Counties Title Tournament, with Zach securing his spot in the final 4 last month. Meanwhile, Marcus North will team with Kaden Garrick and Sterling Oil member Damien. This match gives Kaden the chance to gain retribution over Bryan Tucker, the man who eliminated him from contention in the tournament. This final addition to the card for this Saturday appears to be quite the contest.

Fans in attendance will also have the chance to purchase last month’s Summerhill Showdown event on DVD for the first time, priced at £8. The DVD will also be available from WrestleZone’s online shop as of next week.

Tickets are available for this show from www.ringsideworld.co.uk, priced £12 for adults and £10 for under 14s, and these will guarantee you priority entry on the night. Pay at the door entry is also available on the night, depending if any tickets are left, at the same prices. Doors at the Town Hall open at 7pm, with the action kicking off at 7:30.
