The stars of WrestleZone are back on March 4th at Newtonhill’s Bettridge Centre for the last stop before the Regal Rumble. Everyone will be looking to stake their claim to enter. With only 20 spots available and the WrestleZone roster growing at an alarming rate, management will have a tough decision to make when deciding who to enter.
In a huge 6 man tag match, the team of Scotty Swift, Johnny Lions and Jimbo Bannon will face off against Marcus North and Sterling Oil members Damien and Shawn Johnson. The recently debuted Marcus North has a tough test ahead of him in just his second match on the main roster. Richard R. Russell hasn’t been impressed with his men so far in 2017, with no members of Sterling Oil left in the ongoing Tri-Counties Championship Tournament and Damien shaking the hand of Johnny Lions at Summerhill Showdown. Each team has a WrestleZone rookie and two decorated stars, evening the playing field. If Peterhead’s 6 man tag was anything to go by, this could turn into a straight up fight.
The final quarterfinal bout of the tournament to crown the first-ever Tri-Counties Champion will take place in Newtonhill as Bryan Tucker and Andy Wild battle it out. With an opportunity to regain the Undisputed Title just around the corner, Andy has the chance to hold two of WrestleZone’s titles should he advance to the semifinals. Ever since his return to the WrestleZone at the 2016 Regal Rumble, Bryan Tucker has been on fire, specifically during his rivalry with former tag partner, Sterling Oil member Shawn Johnson. The winner of this match will meet Zach Dynamite in the semifinals, just two steps away from making WrestleZone history.
The Sterling Brothers are cashing in their rematch clause this Saturday as they face The Rejected for the Tag Team Championships. Ever since Chris Archer shockingly pinned William Sterling at Summerhill Showdown, both Sterling brothers have been unable to defeat Archer and Mikkey Vago in singles action at shows in Montrose and Peterhead. Richard R. Russell hasn’t been a happy man over the last few weeks, with Shawn Johnson picking up the only wins for Sterling Oil so far this year. If Alan and William hope to change Russell’s mood, they’ll need to prove their dominance over The Rejected and take back those title belts.
In a rematch from Summerhill Showdown, former tag partners will once again collide as Kaden Garrick faces Mr P. After their previous match ended in a double count out, these two kept brawling around ringside until finally being seperated by security. Their hatred for each other has grown so high over the last several weeks, with the former tag partners brawling to the backstage area during a 6 man tag bout in Peterhead this past Saturday. Security will need to be on top form if they hope to keep the fight inside the ring this Saturday.
3 of WrestleZone’s best will meet in a huge triple threat as Aspen Faith, Zach Dynamite and Jason Reed will collide. Both Aspen and Zach have secured their spot in the final 4 of the Tri-Counties Title Tournament, while Jason was eliminated in the first round. Aspen has been on a huge wave of momentum ever since his return in October, putting away all sorts of opponents. Zach made his return from a 2-year hiatus due to injury this past August, but surprisingly has only made a handful of appearances. Jason is a relative newcomer to WrestleZone, having debuted at July’s Proving Grounds in a losing effort against Shawn Johnson. These three in the ring together calls for a fantastic match that could very well be match of the night.
Womens wrestling returns to WrestleZone as Sammii Jayne faces off against part BAE, part enemy Debbie Sharpe. These two know each other inside out, having faced off several times before for numerous promotions. SWE, SWA, Discovery Wrestling, ICW. You name a Scottish promotion, and there’s a high chance Sammii and Debbie have been on opposite sides. Everytime they’re on opposite sides of the ring, it’s an instant classic. No doubt about it, their bout in Newtonhill will be no different.
Tickets for the show are available from www.ringsideworld.co.uk, priced at £12 for adults and £10 for under 14s with an additional booking fee. Pay at the door entry will also be available on the night. Doors at the Bettridge Centre open at 7pm, with the action kicking off at 7:30.
