Jimbo Bannon, Mr P & The Rejected (Chris Archer & Mikkey Vago) vs Sterling Oil (Shawn Johnson, Damien & The Sterling Brothers (Alan Sterling & William Sterling))
The main event for this Saturday’s show will see a huge 8-man tag team match as Jimbo Bannon, Mr P and the current WrestleZone Tag Team Champions The Rejected team together to take on all four members of Sterling Oil. Sterling Oil’s golden boy Shawn Johnson is on the roll of his career, with a shot at the Undisputed Championship in the main event of Aberdeen Anarchy looming in the distance. Meanwhile in the tag divison, The Rejected won the Tag Team Titles from The Sterling Brothers back at Summerhill Showdown after accepting their open challenge, much to the shock of WrestleZone fans. Their rivalry has been going on ever since, with Alan and William being unable to regain the gold. For me, the big question heading into this match is if Damien will be able to coexist with his Sterling Oil comrades, specifically Shawn Johnson. If Shawn had saved Damien from elimination at the Regal Rumble, we could’ve possibly had a different winner. There’s a lot coming into this match ahead of the big supershow on June 17th.
Super Executioner vs Scotty Swift
In a rematch from last year’s Proving Grounds event, the current Undisputed Champion Scotty Swift will take on Super Executioner in a non-title Blindfold Match. Scotty has yet to pick up a win since regaining the Undisputed Title at last month’s Regal Rumble, losing in seperate 6-man tag team bouts at recent shows in Fraserburgh and Westhill. With Aberdeen Anarchy just weeks away, Scotty needs to start picking up momentum heading into the biggest show of the WrestleZone calendar. Super Executioner has yet to feature on any of the previous four Aberdeen Anarchy cards, so a win over the Undisputed Champion could change things for this years show.
Kiss My Foot Match
Bryan Tucker vs Lord Mr Malice
One of the fan voting matches will see Bryan Tucker take on Lord Mr Malice. The choices for the match stipulation were a Taped Fist Match, a Kiss My Foot Match and a No Count Out Match, with the majority of fans voting for a Kiss My Foot Match. Bryan currently sees himself in a difficult situation as part of the final four in the ongoing Tri-Counties Championship Tournament. After going to a no contest and then a double disqualification with Zach Dynamite, the remaining four competitors are left in uncertainty heading towards Aberdeen Anarchy. Meanwhile, Lord Mr Malice is working his way up the throne, and a win over one of the Tri-Counties semi-finalists would surely boost him higher up.
Blue Thunder vs Aspen Faith
The second fan voting match will see Aspen Faith battle Blue Thunder. The stipulation choices for this match were a Tables Match, a Last Man Standing Match and a 30 Minute Iron Man Match, with the fans choosing Aspen and Thunder to compete in WrestleZone’s first ever Tables Match. This will be a rematch from the first round of the Tri-Counties Title Tournament back in October, which saw Aspen advancing forward. Since then, Aspen has battled to a time limit draw and a no contest against Bingo Ballance in the semifinals. Aspen, Bingo, Bryan Tucker and Zach Dynamite are at a stalemate as the final four in the tournament, with WrestleZone management set to make an announcement in the coming days.
Zach Dynamite vs Andy Wild
Zach Dynamite will have a tough test ahead of him this weekend in Inverurie, as he takes on former Undisputed Champion Andy Wild in singles action. After having an unstoppable (no pun intended) 2016, which included ending the 525-day reign of Scotty Swift as the Undisputed Champion, Andy was stripped of his title for putting his hands on officials and then lost a rematch with Scotty for the vacant title last month. Andy has since moved his attention towards Mr P, with his reasons still to be answered. As mentioned in the past two matches, Zach Dynamite is one of the final four in the ongoing Tri-Counties Title Tournament. With a brawl ensuing between Zach and the other three competitors this past Saturday in Westhill, WrestleZone management will be keen to announce their decision regarding the finals of the tournament.
WrestleZone Training Academy Showcase Match
Nathan North vs Bradley Evans
The last match signed for this Saturday will showcase two graduates of the WrestleZone Training Academy, as Bradley Evans goes one on one with the newly rechristened Nathan North. These two both made their main roster debuts back at WrestleZone’s show in Montrose in February in 6-man tag team action, with Nathan then known as Marcus North, which saw Bradley’s team coming out victorious. Bradley then also defeated Marcus earlier this month in Fraserburgh. Both Bradley and Nathan hail from Inverurie, so what better way for Nathan to get his first win over Bradley than by doing it in his hometown.
Tickets are available from www.ringsideworld.co.uk, priced at £12 for adults and £10 for under 14s. Pay at the door entry will also be available on the night. Doors open at 6:30pm for the meet the stars session, with the action kicking off at 7:30.
