Discovery Wrestling Year 3 Preview
Saturday September 16th 2017
With the indy scene on a massive high with our guys killing it overseas and here in the UK, it is great to see companies in Scotland still getting good crowds and doing good shows.
Discovery Wrestling celebrates three years in the business with a great show planned for the main hall of Edinburgh’s Corn Exchange On Saturday.
FOUR WAY ELIMINATION TO DETERMINE THE FIRST DISCOVERY WRESTLING WOMEN’S CHAMPION
Disco have decided to crown their first Women’s Champion and have had four qualifying matches to make this match. Candice LeRae had defeated Viper to qualify first but due to commitments, she has been replaced by a popular figure in the Session Moth Martina, who defeated Ayesha Raymond in her previous Disco appearance. Next to qualify was Buffet Club Member Nina Samuels who got the win over Debbie Sharpe. The third qualifier was current pro wrestling eve champion Sammii Jayne who defeated current PROGRESS Women’s Champion, Toni Storm and last to qualify was Lucy Cole who defeated House Of Saynt member Jayla Dark.
Whoever wins this fascinating contest will be presented the championship belt by former WWE Women’s and TNA Knockout Champion Lisa Marie Veron who will be ringside for the match.
UNCIVIL WAR QUALIFIER – TRIPLE THREAT MATCH
With one space left in November’s Uncivil War Elimination match, management have set up a cracking three way dance to determine the qualifier. The teams are former multiple time ICW Tag Team Champions, The NAK (BT Gunn/Chris Renfrew), former ICW Tag Team Champions, Polo Promotions (Jackie Polo/Mark Coffey) and the current OTT Tag Team Champions, The Kings Of The North (Bonesaw/Damien Corvin). These teams will go toe to toe to join Fight Club, Buffet Club and Dave Conrad/Deviation in what will be a cracking four way later this year.
HOTTER THAN HELL INVITATIONAL SEMI FINALS
Four qualifying matches were set in march to crown the first ever Hotter Than Hell Invitational Champion. The winner to be determined at the November show.
The four qualifying men are current WrestleZone Tri-Counties Champion, Aspen Faith, who defeated Doug Williams, The Fight Nation British Champion, Chris Ridgeway, who defeated Mark Coffey, former ICW Champion, Mikey Whiplash who defeated Matt Riddle in a classic encounter, and the first ever PROGRESS Atlas Champion and current Tidal Heavyweight Champion, Rampage Brown who defeated Dave Conrad at the last show.
The semi finals have been drawn and has put Faith against Ridgeway in the first semi and Rampage Brown versus Mikey Whiplash in the other one.
Two great matches for the fans to enjoy and, whoever wins them, it will be a great final.
DEBBIE SHARP VS AYESHA RAYMOND
These two girls could serve up a decent match for the fans as Debbie Sharpe who lost to Nina Samuels in the Women’s Title tournament and Ayesha who had good match versus The Session Moth last time out.
I feel the former IPW:UK Women’s Champion and Mae Young Classic competitor could be too strong for the former BAE Club member but could it be the Perth based Sharpe that gets the win over The Amazon on Saturday?
MATT RIDDLE VS ???
The King of Bros and current WWN Champion Matt Riddle makes his Discovery return after losing, in my opinion, the match of the year so far against Mikey Whiplash in the Hotter Than Hell Invitational back in May. But who will he grace in the squared circle on Saturday. We will just have to wait and see what transpires.
DALTON CASTLE VS JOE HENDRY
The resident peacock of ring of honor Dalton Castle makes his discovery debut as he faces the current WCPW World Champion, “The Prestigious One” Joe Hendry. Dalton had had quite a few months as he has challenged for the ROH Heavyweight title and held the ROH Six Man Championship with The Boys. He will be looking to win his Discovery debut against a man who has has good success in Discovery but without winning the Y-Division title. So will it be ‘The Peacock’ who reigns supreme or will ‘The Prestigious One’ get the win and then look to another title shot in Discovery.
THE HOUSE OF SAYNT VS THE CHASING PACK
This rivalry has been going for a while now as the Patriarch of The House of Saynt, Christopher Saynt, has had his problems with Michael Chase. He kicked out Lou King Sharp from the group and when he attacked him, Chase came to his aid. Then Saynt chose Chase’s opponent and stipulation the next show. They attacked him after that. Then Chase and Lou King Sharpe defeated The House by count out and then Chase and Sharpe got to Saynt and Doros, who were ringside for Dark’s match versus Lucy Cole.
Now it’s a six person tag with a stipulation or two. If Chase’s team win, he gets Saynt one on one at the November show. If Chase wins that then The House of Saynt disbands. If The House wins, Chase and Saynt will never meet again when The House are in Discovery. So who will Chase’s final member be? We will find out on Saturday.
DISCOVERY WRESTLING Y-DIVISION CHAMPIONSHIP – TWO OUT OF THREE FALLS – LEWIS GIRVAN (c) VS JOE COFFEY
Now this match will be a cracking end to the show when these long time rivals meet for the second time. To be fair Girvan has had the belt for a while. Most of that time with help from Aspen Faith’s interference. But He has had Coffey breathing down his neck and at the last show, Joe Coffey earned another shot and management have deemed it that it will be a two out of three falls match to decide who is the champion. Seems fair after what Coffey has had to do to get a one on one rematch.
So there is my preview folks. The show itself will be amazing. Looking forward to being down front for it.
Till next time, enjoy your wrestling.
