WrestleZone are rolling out the red carpet once again as they present their second Fan Appreciation Night this Saturday night from Peterhead’s Palace Hotel. Last year’s event in Inverurie proved to be a hit, with the fans getting to vote on match stipulations and one lucky youngster being given the chance to be the timekeeper for the main event. With this being the last stop before The Regal Rumble, everyone will be out to impress not just the fans, but also WrestleZone management with the hopes of earning their spot in the annual Regal Rumble Match.
WrestleZone Tri-Counties Championship
Scotty Swift vs Aspen Faith (c)
In a huge main event, Aspen Faith will put his Tri-Counties Championship up for grabs against Scotty Swift. Since regaining the title from Zach Dynamite back at Summerhill Showdown, The King of Catch was able to make two successful defences against Mikkey Vago and Damien throughout February, while his first reign saw him retain against the likes of Bradley Evans, Johnny Lions and Chris Archer. Now, he finds himself up against one of the most decorated stars in WrestleZone history in the form of Scotty Swift. The Red Haired Warrior has done all there is to be done in a WrestleZone ring; 2x Undisputed Champion, 1x Tag Team Champion, 1x Heavyweight Champion, 1x No Limits Champion, 2015 Regal Rumble Winner. But he’s never captured the Tri-Counties Championship. But if he hopes to pick up the gold in Peterhead, he’ll have to keep an eye out for Crusher Craib, with the grudge between them far from over.
Winner enters The Regal Rumble at #25, loser enters at #1
Alan Sterling vs Damien
Two matches originally scheduled for WrestleZone’s postponed Friends of ANCHOR charity show will now take place in Peterhead. The first of those matches has major Regal Rumble ramifications as Damien goes one on one with former Sterling Oil ally Alan Sterling. The winner of the match will enter The Regal Rumble Match last while the loser will enter first. Ever since leaving Sterling Oil in September, Damien has done considerably well for himself, as he defeated both Sterling Brothers in singles action en-route to becoming a two-time Undisputed Champion and then also made his return to Discovery Wrestling down in Edinburgh. But at Summerhill Showdown, he was screwed out of the Undisputed Title as Richard R. Russell low blowed him behind the referee’s back, allowing Shawn Johnson to also become a two-time champion. With The Regal Rumble possibly being the only way for Damien to get another crack at the title, this is a must-win situation for The Revolutionary.
Nathan North vs Mr P
The other rescheduled match will see the rivalry between Mr P and “Vintage” Nathan North finally come to an end as they face off in WrestleZone’s first ever Flag Match. Ever since September’s Battle of the Nations show, P and North have been at each other’s throats. North cost P his Battle of the Nations Match against Andy Wild, then cost him further matches against Aspen Faith for the Tri-Counties Championship in Brechin and then a Triple Threat Match in Balmedie to Jason Reed. The two faced off for the first time at Halloween Hijinx, where North came out on top thanks to the help of Jeeves Winchester. They then stepped in to the ring again at Christmas Chaos, this time in a 2 on 1 Handicap Match where North teamed with Jeeves, who tapped out to P’s sharpshooter. A six man tag team match at Summerhill Showdown saw P team with Bryan Tucker and Grado as they came out victorious over North and The Sterling Brothers. Their most recent match was last month, where North defeated P in Montrose. Who will come out on top as this rivalry finally comes to an end?
Bradley Evans & Chris Archer vs Sterling Oil (Shawn Johnson & Crusher Craib)
A tag team match has also been signed for this Saturday’s show as Bradley Evans teams with one half of the Tag Team Champions Chris Archer to face the Sterling Oil duo of current Undisputed Champion Shawn Johnson and Crusher Craib. This is a huge opportunity for Evans, as he enters a match alongside 3 of WrestleZone’s best. Between Archer, Johnson and Craib, there have been 4 Undisputed Championship reigns, 7 Tag Team Championship reigns, 4 Regal Rumble wins and 3 Aberdeen Anarchy main events. Since making his official debut last February, Evans has stepped through the ropes with some of WrestleZone’s biggest names, including Aspen Faith, Damien, The Sterling Brothers and now former friend Zach Dynamite. Imagine the confidence boost for Evans if he’s able to get the pinfall over either Shawn or Crusher, especially with The Regal Rumble right around the corner.
Zach Dynamite vs Cysto 1
Zach Dynamite will be in action in Peterhead as he faces Cysto 1. After losing the Tri-Counties Championship back to Aspen Faith at Summerhill Showdown, Dynamite snapped and turned his back on the fans by attacking Bradley Evans. Since then, he’s had two matches against Evans, with both ending in a count out, as Dynamite walked out of the match in Newtonhill, before Evans was counted out in Montrose. With his new attitude and aggression, Fully Loaded will perhaps be using this match to make a statement to everyone and earn his place in this year’s Regal Rumble Match. Because let’s face it, Cysto doesn’t stand a chance.
William Sterling vs Blue Thunder
The final match signed will see former tag team partners collide as William Sterling takes on Blue Thunder. After being randomly paired together in 2013, Sterling and Thunder won the vacant Tag Team Championships under the name of The Thunder Buddies. As champions, they had a fantastic series of matches with The Granite City Hotshots, eventually losing the tag titles to them in WrestleZone’s first ever Ladder Match at the 2014 Aberdeen Anarchy. Who would’ve knew that one year later, Sterling would turn his back on Thunder and reform Sterling Oil. After breaking up, Sterling and Thunder had three singles matches against each other, with Thunder winning the first two by disqualification and count out, before Sterling put him away in a Christmas Brawl to put an end the rivalry. As you can see, Thunder was never able to get a definitive victory over his former partner. Will luck be on his side when he returns to the Blue Toon on Saturday night?
