WrestleZone are back at Aberdeen’s Northern Hotel in 2 weeks time for the 2018 Regal Rumble. With the tagline of ‘The Biggest Rumble Ever’, management have stayed true to their word by bringing in some of the UK’s best, as well as increasing the participants of The Regal Rumble Match itself from 20 to 25. With only one other match announced, let’s take a look at some possible contests for one of the biggest shows on the WrestleZone calendar!
2018 Regal Rumble Match – Richard R. Russell, Alan Sterling, Damien, Blue Thunder, Scotty Swift, Jack Jester, Mr P, Chris Archer and Mikkey Vago confirmed to enter
Triple Threat Match for the Undisputed WrestleZone Championship – Shawn Johnson (c) vs Jack Jester vs Lewis Girvan
2018 Regal Rumble Match
Although it’s been officially announced, this year’s Regal Rumble has only 9 announced entrants as of writing, those being Sterling Oil members Richard R. Russell and Alan Sterling, as well as Damien, Blue Thunder, 2015 winner Scotty Swift, 2014 winner Jack Jester, Mr P and both halves of the Tag Team Champions in the form of Chris Archer and Mikkey Vago. Let’s take a look at who could be the other 16 participants, in no particular order;
1. Crusher Craib
2. William Sterling
3. Lou King Sharp
5. Aspen Faith
6. Zach Dynamite
7. Bradley Evans
8. Jason Reed
9. Johnny Lions
10. Bryan Tucker
11. Nathan North
12. Lewis Girvan
13. Andy Wild
14. Jeeves Winchester
15. Cysto 1
16. Cysto 2
Got everyone that’s tagged in the event poster on Facebook, so the last 3 is just to fill space really.
Fatal Four Way Match for the WrestleZone Tri-Counties Championship
Aspen Faith (c) vs Zach Dynamite vs Bradley Evans vs Jason Reed
Aspen Faith regained the Tri-Counties Championship from Zach Dynamite at Summerhill Showdown in January, so he’ll be vying for a chance to get the gold back around his own waist. Zach’s now former friend Bradley Evans will be looking to get his hands on his old training partner after Zach’s actions after that match, and has also been unsuccessful in two previous title matches with Faith so perhaps he’ll have better luck a third time around. Jason Reed was the first challenger for Zach Dynamite back in November, but was unable to take the title from Fully Loaded. Through all 3 of those guys in against The King of Catch and you’ve got yourselves a fantastic title match.
WrestleZone Tag Team Championships
The Rejected (Chris Archer & Mikkey Vago) (c) vs Lou King Sharp & Krieger
After regaining the Tag Team Championships from The Sterling Brothers in December, The Rejected successfully defended against Andy Wild and Jason Reed at Summerhill Showdown. With Lou King Sharp and Krieger both scheduled to be in action at The Regal Rumble, why not have them challenge for the gold? This match, if it were to happen, could very well be Pure Dead Brilliant.
Sterling Oil (Crusher Craib & The Sterling Brothers (Alan Sterling & William Sterling)) vs Scotty Swift, Damien and Johnny Lions
Final match for the main card and I’ve got a six man tag team match with Crusher Craib and The Sterling Brothers facing the team of Scotty Swift, Damien and Johnny Lions. Plenty of stories coming in to this match; the current animosity between Crusher and Scotty, Damien’s ongoing rivalry with Sterling Oil while he tries to get his hands on Richard R. Russell, Johnny Lions’ long history with Sterling Oil. Would make an interesting and chaotic six man tag.
VIP Ticket Holders Bonus Match
Blue Thunder vs Nathan North
Last but not least is the VIP Ticket Holders Bonus Match, which I see being Blue Thunder facing off with “Vintage” Nathan North. Probably won’t be anything too major, but it gives a chance for both to get momentum in to the main event.
Tickets for the show are available from www.ringsideworld.co.uk, priced at £15 for a VIP ticket, £12 for adults and £10 for under 14s. Doors open at 6pm for VIP ticket holders and 6:30 for general admission, with the action kicking off at 7pm.
