Pro Wrestling Elite return to the Ayr Town Hall later tonight for a stacked show. With all the fallout from March’s Elite Rumble V, this is the last chance for the roster to make an impact before July’s 7 year anniversary show!

PWE Tag Team Championships
Polo Promotions (Jackie Polo & Mark Coffey) (c) vs The Govan Team (Ravie Davie & Cousin Zander)

The Tag Team Championships will be defended as Polo Promotions defend against two men teaming for the first time in a PWE ring, it’s The Govan Team. Jackie Polo and Mark Coffey are one of the most decorated tag teams in the UK today. While currently holding the PWE Tag Team Championships, they are also former tag champs in ICW, SWA and Target Wrestling. They became the new tag champions of Pro Wrestling Elite last July by beating The UK Hooligans and The New Age Kliq. They have since defended against The Filthy Generation, Max Money and the team of Bram and Sha Samuels. Their next challenge comes in the form of Ravie Davie and Cousin Zander. PWE fans will be familiar with Ravie Davie, but they not know as much about his Cousin Zander. The duo have been making a name for themselves on Wrestling Experience Scotland shows, with a recent debut for Reckless Intent Wrestling as part of their Tag Team Championships Tournament. Although they were unsuccessful there, could they be heading back to Glasgow with the PWE Tag Team Championships around their waists?

Stevie Boy vs Wolfgang

The Filthy Generation’s Stevie Boy will be in singles action when he faces Wolfgang. Wolfgang was originally scheduled to face Mikey Whiplash, but he had to pull out following the torture he went through at ICW Barramania 4. Replacing him is Stevie Boy, who cashed in his Square Go! briefcase during Whiplash’s match with defending ICW World Heavyweight Champion, BT Gunn. Stevie and Wolfgang are two of the top tier athletes in the UK today. The Regulator was of course part of last year’s WWE United Kingdom Championship Tournament, and has since remained part of the division. With WWE holding the second tournament next month, could The King of Insanity be on his way to joining Wolfgang?

Jack Jester vs Sha Samuels

While they may be Kinky Party partners elsewhere, Jack Jester and Sha Samuels will be going head to head later tonight. Both are accomplished wrestlers all over the UK, as singles competitors and as tag team partners. Together, they are the current Tag Team Champions in ICW and PCW. Their partnership goes out the window when it comes to Pro Wrestling Elite however. Jester and Samuels were both unsuccessful in this year’s Elite Rumble Match. They’ll want to impress PWE management as we edge towards the seventh anniversary of the company.

Andy Wild vs Iestyn Rees

A big powerhouse collision has been added to the card as Andy Wild takes on Iestyn Rees. Andy Wild became the inaugural PWE Heavyweight Champion back in 2012 and has the third longest reign in history at 363 days, behind Grado at 511 days and Joe Hendry at 413 days as of writing. After losing the title in 2013, Andy’s appearances in Ayr started becoming fewer and fewer. After rejuvenating his career, Andy has started returning and debuting for more promotions all over the UK. His opponent for Saturday will be Iestyn Rees. The Alpha Male is the only two-time PWE Heavyweight Champion in history, but lost the gold in his second reign last year to Joe Hendry after he cashed in his Money in the Bank contract. Both Wild and Rees will hope to pick up the win and move back up to the championship picture.

BT Gunn vs Charlie Sterling

The last match signed sees BT Gunn facing Charlie Sterling. Gunn main evented last year’s ICW Hydro show and became the inaugural Undisputed ICW Champion. Here in Pro Wrestling Elite, The Oddity was eliminated from The Elite Rumble from his usual New Age Kliq partner Chris Renfrew. Meanwhile, Charlie Sterling was part of the recent 5 Star Wrestling shows and became the inaugural 5 Star Tag Team Champions alongside Adam Maxted as part of Max Money. Sterling and Maxted also recently unsuccessfully challenged Polo Promotions for the PWE Tag Team Championships. A win for Charlie Sterling over one of the biggest names in Scotland could do great things for him.

2018 Elite Rumble winner Kenny Williams will be in attendance to confront PWE Heavyweight Champion and Commonwealth Games athlete Joe Hendry. This comes after Hendry, alongside Leyton Buzzard, assaulted Kenny after he won the Rumble. What will The Bollocks have to say before he challenges for the championship in July?

The show will also feature an announcement regarding a former WWE superstar for July’s 7 year anniversary event!

Online ticket sales have now closed, but fans can still pay at the door as they arrive. Doors open at 6:30, with the first bell at 7pm.
