ROH World Tag Team Championships
Bullet Club (Cody & Hangman Page) vs The Briscoes (Jay Briscoe & Mark Briscoe) (c)

The World Tag Team Championships are up for grabs in the evening’s main event as Bullet Club members Cody and Hangman Page are set to challenge The Briscoes. Since winning the titles from The Motor City Machine Guns at March’s 16th Anniversary Show, Jay and Mark Briscoe have shown people why they are considered one of the most ruthless tag teams on the planet today. With successful defences so far against names like The Young Bucks and Roppongi3K, they now finds themselves across the ring from Cody and Hangman Page. The pair are just months away from hosting All In alongside other Bullet Club members, and what a show that promises to be. What way to get more eyes on the product than they’re already is than by taking Ring of Honor’s Tag Team Championships to the show around their waists!

ROH World Television Championship
Joe Hendry vs Silas Young (c)

Joe Hendry returns to ROH this Thursday as he challenges Silas Young for his ROH World Television Championship. It’s been quite the past few months for Hendry. He’s taken part in the 2018 Commonwealth Games from Australia, he was part of the longest match in wrestling history at 76 days, and he now has the opportunity to add more history to his already well-established name. It won’t be an easy task for him however, as he has to get past Silas Young. Known as pro wrestling’s Last Real Man, Young is as bitter as they come and will resort to any means necessary to remain the champion. Likewise, Hendry is no stranger to fighting dirty. While he was sadly unsuccessful in the Commonwealth Games, Hendry will look to win gold here in his home country.

Kenny King vs Punishment Martinez

Former World Television Champion Kenny King will be in action against Punishment Martinez. King has been on a roll ever since he captured the title from KUSHIDA at the end of September, defending against the likes of Joey Ryan and Mark Briscoe during both his reigns. His first ended in December in a match involving his opponent on this night in Punishment Martinez. A semifinalist in the 2016 Top Prospect Tournament, Martinez has been on the run of his career over the last few months. The winner of last year’s Survival of the Fittest tournament as well as Unsuccessful challenges for both the ROH World Championship and the IWGP United States Heavyweight Championship have boosted him up the rankings, and this match could possibly be used to determine a future Television Championship contender as we head towards next month’s Best in the World iPPV.

Shane Taylor vs Scorpio Sky

The beast known as Shane Taylor comes to Edinburgh to face SoCal Uncensored’s Scorpio Sky. Perhaps best known for his former tag team with currently signed NXT star Keith Lee, Shane Taylor hasn’t been doing much in ROH since the breakup of The Rebellion group. Speaking of people that hasn’t been up to much in recent years, Scorpio Sky has burst back on to the scene following a great run in the early years of PWG. One of PWG’s originals, Sky has since been one third of the ROH World Six Man Tag Team Champions alongside The Addiction. A tough test ahead for him in Edinburgh as he faces one of the biggest athletes on the ROH roster.

Los Ingobernables de Japon (EVIL & SANADA) vs SoCal Uncensored (Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian)

Several tag team contests have been signed for the Edinburgh leg of the tour, the first of which sees current IWGP Tag Team Champions and Los Ingobernables de Japon members EVIL and SANADA taking on Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian of the SoCal Uncensored group in non-title action. Over in New Japan, EVIL and SANADA have been killing it as part of the ever popular LIJ stable. After winning the titles at Wrestle Kingdom 12 from The Killer Elite Squad, the bruising pair have continued to dominate the tag division. A new challenge faces them today as they face Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian. Daniels and Kazarian have been on top of the doubles division in companies like ROH and Impact Wrestling, but they have never captured gold in NJPW. A win over the reigning champions could put them in place for a future opportunity.

Nick Aldis & Mark Haskins vs The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson)

Nick Aldis makes his ROH debut tonight as he teams with the returning Mark Haskins to face The Young Bucks. The current NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Nick is perhaps best known for his time spent in Impact Wrestling under the alias of Magnus. The 10 Pounds of Gold scheme has allowed all-comers to challenge for the title, from Tommy Dreamer to David Starr to James Ellsworth. It’s surprising to think someone like Aldis has never been in an ROH ring, but what a way to make a debut. Alongside one of the UK’s greatest exports in Mark Haskins, they’ll be against 2/3 of the NEVER Openweight Six Man Tag Team Champions as they face The Young Bucks. The masters of the superkick are without a doubt two of the most popular stars in the business today. The question is, will there be a Superkick Party in Edinburgh?

The Boys (Boy 1 & Boy 2) vs Delirious & Toru Yano

Dalton Castle’s Boys will be in action against the very unique duo of Delirious and Toru Yano. Despite typically being the lackeys to Dalton, The Boys are no stranger to getting physical when the time calls for it, having previously held the World Six Man Tag Team Championships alongside The Party Peacock, a title they lost the last time they were in Edinburgh. The twins will hope to get the win this time around when they face Delirious and Toru Yano. Both of these men are known for their crazy antics in the ring, from Delirious running all over the place to Yano ripping off the turnbuckle pads for no apparent reason. It won’t be the most technically-savvy match, but it’s a match nonetheless.

Kelly Klein & Chardonnay vs Sumie Sakai & Tenille Dashwood

The Women of Honor will be represented in Scotland as Kelly Klein teams with the debuting Chardonnay to face the inaugural Women of Honor Champion Sumie Sakai and former WWE star Tenille Dashwood. The women’s division in ROH has only come to prominence in recent years, with a championship belt finally introduced at last year’s Final Battle event. The finals of the tournament took place last month, with Sumie Sakai defeating regular Women of Honor star Kelly Klein. The addition of “The Queen of the Chavs” Chardonnay and Tenille Dashwood to this match is intriguing. Chardonnay will be challenging for the title in Doncaster on Saturday, so she’ll be looking to get the last laugh over Women of Honor’s self-proclaimed Ray of Sunshine here.

Hiroshi Tanahashi, Jay Lethal & Dalton Castle vs The Kingdom (Matt Taven, Vinny Marseglia & TK O’Ryan)

The last match signed sees six man tag team action as the all-star trio of Hiroshi Tanahashi, Jay Lethal and current ROH World Champion Dalton Castle take on the reigning World Six Man Tag Team Champions The Kingdom in a non-title match. Tanahashi, Lethal and Castle are undoubtedly three of the best in the world today, with dozens of championship gold between them. Their opponents on the other hand are, in my opinion, three of the most underrated talents on the ROH roster and maybe even in the world. Matt Taven, Vinny Marseglia and TK O’Ryan have felt as if there’s been a conspiracy against them as of late. Following a World Championship opportunity for Taven against Castle was cancelled due to to injury, The Kingdom went on to capture the World Six Man Tag Team Championships from SoCal Uncensored later in the night to start their second reign. The conspiracy may continue in Edinburgh if The Kingdom feel as if they’re being disrespected by the Scottish fans.

As always, there will be a pre-show meet and greet. Prices are £20 for singles stars and £30 for tag teams. A full list of who’ll be appearing to meet their fans can be found here.

Tickets can still be bought from http://www.rohwrestling.com, priced between £30-70. For fans unable to make the show, it will be broadcast live on ROH’s on-demand streaming service Honor Club from 7pm onwards, and may possibly be released on DVD in the future.
