Here we are once again, the final hurdle before the biggest show of the year. WrestleZone are back at Inverurie’s Town Hall this Saturday night for the last stop on the road to Aberdeen Anarchy X. To say it’s been an easy journey to September 1st would be a complete lie, with several twists and turns leading us to The Beach Ballroom. With the majority of the matches now confirmed for the tenth anniversary celebration, the locker room will be out to impress the fans before blowing the roof off in a few weeks time!
Damien, Johnny Lions & Scotty Swift vs Sterling Oil (Shawn Johnson & The Sterling Brothers (Alan Sterling & William Sterling))
Aberdeen Anarchy momentum is at stake in this main event six man tag team match, with Damien of course set to challenge Shawn Johnson for the Undisputed Championship inside a steel cage while Scotty Swift and Johnny Lions are likely set to be on the opposite side of the ring from The Sterling Brothers and Crusher Craib on September 1st. The history between the six men involved in this match goes back to the very early days of WrestleZone, all six of them (alongside Richard R. Russell) being the only names that have stuck with WZ since the first show all those years ago. There’s an endless list of accolades among them, and that comes with plenty of tension. Damien hasn’t always seen eye to eye with his partners for the evening and although he may have been a former Tag Team Champion with Johnny Lions, he and his team will need to put it all behind them for one night only to make it through this match.
WrestleZone Tag Team Championships
The Outfit (Dino Del Monte & Ted O’Keefe) vs The Rejected (Chris Archer & Mikkey Vago) (c)
Following their shock victory over The Rejected in Turriff, WrestleZone newcomers The Outfit now get a second crack at Archer and Vago, this time with the chance to pick up the Tag Team Championships. Since arriving to WrestleZone during the Regal Rumble pre-show, both Dino Del Monte and Ted O’Keefe are yet to be pinned or submitted. The pair of gangsters (otherwise referred to as Jack and Victor by the fans) are slowly establishing themselves within the tag division, and will 100% be one of WrestleZone’s premier teams in the years to come. For the last few years however, The Rejected have been the ones on top of WrestleZone, trading the tag titles with the likes of The Sterling Brothers and Proper Mental. Their loss to The Outfit may have came as a shock to fans, but let’s not forget that it came following the interference of Aspen Faith. With Faith wrestling elsewhere this Saturday, it’ll be a fair two on two match this time around!
Mr P & Andy Wild vs Nathan North & Zach Dynamite
The four men in this match have no love lost between each other, but they’ll be forced to put their differences aside in this unique Wildcard Match. Mr P has to team with current Tri-Counties Champion Andy Wild, two men that spent the better half of 2017 battling back and forth. Their opposition for Saturday evening are Nathan North and Zach Dynamite, the latter proclaiming to be the the greatest (and soon to be two-time) Tri-Counties Champion. Even though North and Dynamite were a team this past Sunday in their Discovery Wrestling debut, they still aren’t the greatest of friends. This won’t be the only time we see these four in the ring together of course, with a four way Tri-Counties Championship being added to the Aberdeen Anarchy card earlier in the week. With that match in mind, don’t be shocked to see this tag match descend in to utter chaos.
Dog Collar Match
Bryan Tucker vs Crusher Craib
A WrestleZone first will take place at Inverurie Town Hall as Bryan Tucker faces Crusher Craib in a Dog Collar Match, a stipulation that has stemmed from the WrestleZone fans calling the latter Richard R. Russell’s lapdog. Both men will be attached via a chain around their necks, a scary thought from anyone standing across from The Creator of Carnage. Since the monster of Sterling Oil made his return last summer, he has had a number of run-ins with the former Granite City Hotshot, the multi-time Tag Team Champion consistently coming to the aid of Crusher’s main rival Scotty Swift. Tucker has tried on numerous occasions over the past 10 years to defeat Crusher, an obstacle he is yet to overcome in one on one competition. Considering there’s now a chain involved to be used as a weapon, don’t place your bets on this being the time for it to finally happen.
Richard R. Russell vs Cysto 2
In a rematch from May’s Proving Grounds event, Richard R. Russell will once again square off with Cysto. The last time these two faced off saw Crusher Craib and William Sterling interfere on Russell’s behalf, with Crusher’s Big Boot being the deciding factor in Russell’s victory that evening. That original match came about from Russell actually wanting to step in the ring ahead of his bout with Damien the next month, which did of course come after it management finding out that Triple R was still contracted as an active competitor. Russell and the rest of Sterling Oil have never gotten on with management, but the recent issues between the two sides throughout the year has seen some very interesting moments. Seeing as how the previous match between Richard and Cysto ended, Chris McDonald will want to see this one play out with no interference.
Jason Reed vs Kaden Garrick
Inverurie, prepare to be graced by the presence of Jason Reed, a man on a mission to Make WrestleZone Great Again. WrestleZone management think they can put an end to Reed’s antics on Saturday by putting him up against Kaden Garrick. Garrick returned to WZ in this year’s Regal Rumble Match as a surprise entrant, spearing everyone in sight. What he’s yet to achieve however is a dominant victory to put him back in to the minds of the management team. While he’s been out on the shelf, Jason Reed has taken it upon himself to put an end to all the Fake News that surrounds Aberdeenshire. We all need to follow Mr Reed and listen to what he has to say because if we all work together, we can Make WrestleZone Great Again!
WrestleZone management representative Chris McDonald will also be in attendance, where he will reveal the three wrestlers management have chosen to face Crusher Craib and The Sterling Brothers at Aberdeen Anarchy X!
Tickets are available as always from www.ringsideworld.co.uk, priced at £12 for adults, £10 for under 14s, and an online-exclusive family of four ticket for £35. Fans can also pay at the door on the night. Doors at the Inverurie Town Hall open at 7pm, with the first bell at 7:30.
