On this edition, Kaden Garrick answers our questions.
What drew you into professional wrestling?
Always followed wrestling form a young age and wrestled with my friends as a kid. I played football and after I stopped, I saw that there was a wrestling school in Aberdeen and decided I wanted to follow my dream of becoming a wrestler.
Who were your favourite wrestlers going up and who are your favourites now?
As a young child it was Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Mr Perfect, and Jake the Snake. As a teenager it was Sting, Ric Flair, Stone Cold, The Rock, Shawn Michaels, and Triple H. Now I like Jeff Cobb, Kenny Omega, Drew Galloway, and Aleister Black.
What made you decide to start training to be a wrestler and where did you start?
I always wanted to be a wrestler as I kid, it was a dream of mine. I remember going to the first Aberdeen Anarchy at the Beach Ballroom and I remember feeling like I want to do this, be in front of a big crowd and perform. So I contacted WrestleZone Scotland and started training a couple of weeks after that.
Who are your biggest influences in professional wrestling, as a fan and as a wrestler?
For me it has to be for great wrestling ability and as a wrestler, the likes of Randy Savage, Arn Anderson, Ric Flair, Ricky Steamboat, Jake Roberts, they’re the guys that I appreciate. But as a fan, British Bulldog, Jeff Cobb, Tazz, Goldberg, Chris Benoit, those are the guys I base my style of wrestling on.
Who has been your favourite opponent(s) and do you have a favourite match?
My favourites are Andy Wild, Crusher Craib, and Aspen Faith, those guys are strong hard opponents. If I had to choose, it would be my match with Andy Wild.
What has been your career highlight(s) so far?
My career highlight would have to of been my first title which was the WrestleZone Tag Team Titles with Mr P.
Who would be your dream opponent, past or present?
It would have to be Mr Perfect/Curt Hennig, he was amazing.
Where do you see yourself in 5 years time?
Hopefully still wrestling, and I would like to hold a major title and maybe work in a couple of other promotions in Scotland and around the UK.
Where can we find you on social media?
On my Facebook page – Kaden Garrick.
And finally, why do you do what you do?
Because I love the wrestling business and I love proving that small guys can be more than just high flying lightweights but strong powerhouse wrestlers too because that’s what I am.
