While our review is being written, why not check out the talking points coming out of ICW’s Granite City Fight Club event.
A Load of Debuts
Granite City Fight Club saw the ICW debuts of Sugar Dunkerton, Damien, Crusher Craib, Ryan Riley and referee Mikey Innes. The latter four all regulars in the North East’s WrestleZone promotion. All five debutants gave their all with Damien walking away with the pinfall over Suge in a shocking win. Hopefully we’ll see more of all of the new faces in Insane Championship Wrestling sooner rather than later.
A Couple of Returns
The event also marked two in-ring returns with Red Lightning stepping back into the ring after a number of years out of active competition due to injury. He faced off with Grado in an unsuccessful return. Sammii Jayne also made her first ICW appearance since breaking her ankle in her previous appearance, unfortunately her ankle was her own undoing when Viper made it her target.
The Final Words Before Fear & Loathing Weekend Begins
Following his victory over Crusher Craib, Lionheart made it clear that he was aware that next Sunday could be his last ever match but he knows that he will be the next ICW World Heavyweight Champion. Viper and Kay Lee Ray had a heated back and forth as they prepare for Queen of Insanity, Viper got the upper hand but it looks like Kay Lee Ray was wanting to light a fire underneath the ICW Women’s World Champion. Both stories come to a head next Sunday at Fear & Loathing XI.
Sold Out – Why Not Try It Again Next Year
Billy Kirkwood also announced that The Assembly was sold out and that ICW would return to Aberdeen in 2019 to do it all over again along with a tour with more information to follow.
Keep an eye out for our full review in the next day or two.
