NXT UK have been in the Planet Ice Arena in Coventry, England over the last two nights to tape more episodes and throughout the two days, we saw two Scottish wrestlers make their official debuts for the brand. Obviously, this article will include spoilers for upcoming episodes of NXT UK.
On the first night, current ICW Women’s World Champion Kay Lee Ray was in action with a victory over Candyfloss on night one and then Isla Dawn on night two. The Queen of Insanity had been shown in the crowd back at NXT UK TakeOver: Blackpool alongside Jazzy Gabert, and a vignette was aired for her on this past Wednesday’s episode of the show. This was her official in-ring debut however, although she has wrestled for WWE on previous occasions, competing in the inaugural Mae Young Classic and appearing on an episode of regular NXT a few years ago against Nia Jax.
Then earlier tonight, the former NXT UK Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley was confronted by “The Vixen of Violence” Viper. It had been reported that Viper had signed at the same time as KLR and Gabert, despite not being shown in the crowd alongside them last month. Like with The Queen of Insanity, Viper has appeared for WWE before under the guise of Piper Niven. She made it to the quarterfinals of the 2017 Mae Young Classic before being defeated by the 2018 winner Toni Storm, just missing out on a spot in the final four.
We at Scottish Wrestling Network wish both Kay Lee Ray and Viper all the best in this exciting new venture for their careers!
